If you know anything about me at all, you know that I love beer. And I absolutely adore Maplewood. So when Side Project Cellar set up shop mere minutes from my house, I knew I had to visit.
And honestly, I have no idea why I waited so long! But better late than never, right?
These two lovely ladies joined me for an impromptu Friday night happy hour:
Hey Debbie and Molly!
We hit up Side Project Cellar around 7pm on a Friday night, and it wasn’t too crowded, although that definitely changed a little later!
I fell in love with the prints on the wall. I really need something like this for my house.
But enough pictures of beer – let’s get to the real stuff!
I took a look at their pretty lengthy menu. In addition to beer, Side Project Cellar also serves whiskey, wine, and cider. The draft menu changes a bit every week, so each visit may be a little different.
Although the whiskey list was quite impressive (and tempting!) I decided to stick with beer. I ordered the Side Project Saison du Ble Blend #3, which, according to the menu, was a “blend of wine barrel aged and foedre aged Missouri wheat Saison.” Wow! I have little idea what that all meant, but whatever. I rolled with it.
And boy, was it a good choice! It was slightly tart and had a crisp, clean, refreshing finish. It was delicious! I decided to be a good girl and just stick to one beer. Crazy, right? 🙂
I was very impressed with Side Project Cellar, and I can’t wait to come back and try a few more things. Their whiskey is calling my name!
