So if you follow me on Facebook (and if you don’t…what are you waiting for!?), then you’ll remember that I hinted that some big news was coming.
Well…the news is that I was offered a book deal! Yes, a real, live book! I’m still kind of in shock. It definitely hasn’t hit me yet!
Long story short: A few months ago, a publishing company reached out to me and told me that they loved my food blog and my casual, conversational writing style. They think it would work well in a book, and they asked me if I’d be interested in writing one.
Again – HOLY FREAKING MOLY!
Ahem – many meetings and discussions later, I agreed. A contract was drafted up, and I signed it last week. It’s official!
The book is not set to be released until Fall of 2016, but I know that time is going to zoom by.
All of the other details of my book – the title, the subject matter, etc. – is something that I want to keep under wraps until the date gets a little closer. It will definitely be food-related (duh!), and the focus will be on local St. Louis restaurants. That’s all I’m going to say for now!
I say this all the time, and I’ll say it again: when I started this little blog in March of 2010, I never ever dreamed I’d have half of the opportunities that I’ve been lucky enough to experience.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved to write. But I never actually considered myself to be a writer, and I definitely never even thought of pursuing a book deal! I know all of these amazing opportunities are a result of hard work, but this whole food blogging thing is a hobby that I love, so it doesn’t even feel like work. I just feel lucky.
Thanks to all of my readers – old and new. I wouldn’t be where I am without your readership and support. Even though my book deal (not to mention my full time job; don’t forget that this is all just a hobby for me!) will keep me plenty busy, I will still continue to keep up this blog with a new review every week, just like I always have. 🙂
I’m super excited to start the next chapter of this crazy journey, and I hope you all are ready to join me!
See you next week!
