Focus on Ferguson: Cork Wine Bar

You know what makes me happy (other than good food)? Wine. I love the stuff, and I don’t feel like I blog enough about it! There are just so many amazing things here in St. Louis to blog about, and not enough time! Anyone else think I should start blogging more than once a week? I’m considering it. Winking smile

Anyway, I’m continuing my Ferguson Love Fest this week by reviewing this neat spot:

Cork Wine Bar!

After our amazing visit to Ferguson Brewing Company, Drew and I decided to keep the party going at Cork. I was more than happy to follow up copious amounts of beer with copious amounts of wine, especially since I wasn’t the one driving. Winking smile Drink responsibly, everyone!

We weren’t the only ones craving wine that night.

Cork was hopping!

While the inside of the building was pretty incredible, it was a gorgeous evening, so we opted to sit outside.

Our friendly waitress greeted us and gave us these cool looking menus:

The cover of the menu was made out of cork! Or at least it felt like it, anyway. How cute is that?

We perused the menu, and it didn’t take me long to make my choice.

Who loves wine flights? This girl. I decided to go with the In Full Bloom flight, which included Ramsay Cabernet Sauvignon, Sterling ‘Vinter’s Collection’ Meritage, and Altos ‘Las Hormigas’ Malbec. I used to be all about sweet bubbly wine, but nowadays I’m more of a red wine girl.

It wasn’t long before my flight came out. I was impressed by the presentation.

So impressed, in fact, that I took about a million different pictures, from a million different angles.

Poor Drew. He has the patience of a saint. Winking smile

Anyway, on to the wine. They were all delicious! My favorite of the three, however, was the Las Hormigas Malbec. It smelled so good, and it had hints of chocolate and vanilla flavor! Very unique. Drew enjoyed his wine, too!

Overall, I was super impressed with Cork. The service was a little on the slow side, but I’ll give them a pass since it was incredibly busy that night. The amazing wine and the fantastic price (only $12 for a flight!) is enough for me to give this place two very big thumbs up.

See you next week!
