So I recently visited iTap. Otherwise known as the International Tap House. Otherwise known as Office Place of Awesomeness. Okay…I made that last one up.

It’s a sweet bar in Chesterfield that serves nothing but beer. No food, no wine, no soda…just beer.

Over 500 different types of beer, to be precise! Crazy, I tell you!

They offer 40 types of beer on tap.

For someone that knows nothing about beer, this was honestly all very overwhelming. What should I choose? Where do I start? Someone help me! Luckily, iTap has a nifty menu for people like me.

This sweet menu contained a description of every beer available for consumption. A description of flavors, pairings, alcohol content, etc. It was very helpful.

I went with a chocolate cocoa stout:

It was creamy, rich, and delicious. Tasted a lot like coffee! Thumbs up.

My dad, sister, and her girlfriend also came to iTap. I forgot what they ordered (I’m telling you: me and beer = useless), but I sampled a sip of everything and it was all good!

I should have taken notes. Argh.

Service was really good, considering the circumstances. The entire place was packed, and there was only one bartender! I don’t know how he managed to keep it all together, but he did.

Since iTap doesn’t serve food, I’m not going to rate it like I would a typical restaurant. I would definitely come back, though. A+!

In other news, I’m a little (okay, a LOT) bummed. I went to Mama Josephine’s a few weeks ago with my mom and sister. I took some great pictures and was excited to share the experience with you all. Well, when I went to write up my blog post, I realized that I deleted the pictures! Heartbreaking. I guess that means I’ll have to return soon. But I’m so mad at myself for doing such a silly thing!

Tell me: What’s the silliest thing you’ve done recently? It won’t bring back my deleted pictures, but it’ll probably make me feel better. Smile

  • They are supposedly opening up a tap house here in Edwardsville. I can’t wait! I love beer, and we’re always on the lookout for stuff you can’t get around here. I’ve been meaning to get to that taphouse as well. The beers all look yummy!

    • Stephanie

Nice to know that they’re expanding! The beers were all yummy! 🙂

  • Try the iTap in Soulard! I love it! They must be consistent with their service, because they are always so nice there, too!

And if you like that, you should check out Bridge Tap House and Wine Bar downtown. More of an upscale version, but big beer selection there too!

    • Stephanie

Thanks for the suggestions, Danielle! I’ve heard really good things about Bridge Tap House — I’ll give it a try!

  • Stephanie!
I found your blog through BurpNSlurp and am SO excited to find another St. Louis Blogger! I can’t wait to get some great restaurant recommendations through reading!!

    • Stephanie

Thanks Clare! I’m glad you found my blog! I’ll be following yours as well…I need more St. Louis bloggers on my google reader! 🙂

  • Courtenay

I’m not a beer drinker either but iTap intrigues me. I’m not sure that many options is good me…I’m so terrible at choosing!

What did you think of Mama Josephine’s? It’s so close to me and I’ve been meaning to try it since Sweet Art tweeted them a few months back but haven’t gotten around to it. Their menu reminds me of home!

  • Stephanie

Hey Courtenay! I’m terrible at choosing, too! If you tell the bartender what beers you like, he’ll definitely give you suggestions — that’s what he did for me!

Mama Josephines was WONDERFUL. The food there was so delicious! Have you been to Sweetie Pies before? I’d compare the food to that — it’s definitely NOT healthy, but it’s GOOD. 🙂

I’m so mad at myself for accidentally deleting the pictures; I was really excited about writing about it on the blog!
